Although the book seems to jump around from topic to topic and is sometimes hard to follow, the personal anecdote-style gives it a warmth not matched in many historical reviews. I enjoyed it very much and I highly recommend this book. The book was written in the days when there was a DCI, and the major directorates were Ops, Science & Technology, Intelligence and Admin.
