To me, it is a great reference book. The author has penned a story that implicitly reminds children that it is okay to be different. A reader who does not simultaneously refer to more detailed sources like Woodford's Interest and Prices is likely to come away with only a superficial understanding from this book.
Galí's work is very useful as a set of replacement lecture notes and problem sets for an instructor who does not want to write up her own and for this we must be thankful to him. It is an intimate story of two people who, according to the culture at the time, should never have been together, but who found a simple and profound joy in being together. Back then, I was struck with how thorough Craig and Babette were, not only providing frameworks and tools for a multitude of CI analyses, but also providing ways to assess those tools, which ensures you are asking (and answering) the best questions for your project.
