Bart Starr was the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers from 1956 to 1971, the most meaningful and successful era of one of football's most storied franchises. Starr was named MVP of the first two Super Bowls and to the Pro Bowl four times. He threw for more than 24,000 yards in his career and holds the Packer record for most games played. But the awards and impressive statistics are not what fans remember most about Bart Starr. As his legendary coach, Vince Lombardi, once said, "Bart Starr stands for what the game of football stands for: courage, stamina and coordinated efficiency. You instill desire by creating a superlative example. The noblest form of leadership is by example and that is what Bart Starr is about."

Bart Starr: When Leadership Mattered shows with clarity and stunning insight just how true Lombardi's compliment was. Drafted in the seventeenth round out of the University of Alabama after a checkered collegiate career, Starr was just hoping to catch th

Editorial : From Booklist Bart Starr was the Green Bay Packer quarterback in the Vince Lombardi years, and for all Lombardi's greatness (see David Maraniss' When Pride Still Mattered, 1999), neither coach nor quarterback would have won a thing without the other. In the unproven Starr, Lombardi saw a young man with integrity, ability, and an overwhelming desire to learn and succeed. The Packers won a single game in 1958. He was gifted physically and displayed an inventive football mind on the field in the days when quarterbacks called almost all their own plays. This is a carefully researched, fluidly written biography of one of

It have many photos, with color photos at the back, including photos and a range map (all a bit small) of each species of bumblebee in North America (about 50 bees, three photos each). The book initially provides an Inducing Hypnosis section and then a series of Deepeners including The Candle, The Mind's Eye, The Garden and the usual Stair technique.

I did find the broad section entitled Suggestion Therapy to be some what informative but found the section on Pain Management to be depressingly short and uninteresting.

The work may deserve a place on every hypnotist's bookshelf due to its ways of NOT writing an informative script. The plot was so realistic it could have been ripped from the headlines (though thankfully it was not!). What they all have in common is this intense desire to know, "Am I going to make it? And what the hell should I be doing in my twenties? School was so easy, but life is so hard."

This book isn't a step by step guide. I was fas
