I didn't like the beach scenes in this book! I found the pics boring and lacking in color! Also short on instructions.. It is mostly a distraction and is thoroughly boring. My somewhat expensive odyssey to own new editions of all 12 diaries goes on. Further, his explanation as to what each star meant was enlightening.
For us gourmands and those in or interested in entering this field, this is captivating reading. Fire this and where's this and too much of this, etc. Sounds pretty good, huh? Well, it really isn't.
Good things can be found here; for example culinary nuggets scattered through the book about how to cook bacon, prepare citrus zest etc are interesting and useful. If you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes in a great restaurant, this book is for you. Perhaps an acquired taste , but such magnificent name dropping and the writing will never be duplicated.. "Fire 35merde! zut alors! putain!". I applaud her for sharing her personal story in a way that enlighten
