Gallienus was a pivotal figure in Roman history. He stopped the persecution of the Christians, yet was not himself a Christian. His bizarre lifestyle antagonised the traditionalists. Editorial : About the Author John Bray was born in 1912 in Adelaide, where he died on 26 June 1995. He was educated at St. Peter's College and the University of Adelaide, from where he graduated with a Bachelor of law degrss, later becoming a Doctor of Law. He was Chief Justice of South Australia from 1967 to 1978 and Chancellor of the University of Adelaide from 1968 to 1983. John Bray published five collections of poetry.
